“life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it” - Mary Shelley
And I defend it through what sets my heart on fire: performing. I love telling stories that make people feel seen in different ways. The way one production touches an audience member can be completely different from the way it reaches someone else, and yet we all sit and watch these performances together, celebrating both singularity and community all at once. And I think that is the most beautiful thing in the world.
My parents exposed me to The Carol Burnett Show and their collection of Broadway musical CDs at a very young age, and needless to say, they made an enormous impression on me. I would shuffle into the living room as Tim Conway’s “The Oldest Man” or mimicking Carol Burnett’s “Mrs. Wiggins” waddle. I adored the show Oliver! so much that from ages 6-8 I sang with a Cockney accent that still lingers to this day. Now, I just imitate Love Island contestants.
During my time at Johns Hopkins, I was the founding President of The Women’s Network, a hiking and backpacking instructor & Wilderness First Responder, Publicity Manager of the JHU Barnstormers, a campus tour guide, a Dean’s List and Honors student, and Christopher J. Pinto Leadership Award recipient. I had the honor to study acting and performance (Meisner, Chekhov, Shakespeare) under John Astin and James Glossman, as well as perform at the John Astin Theater in front of his namesake. My education and involved background have shaped my hard-working character, and I bring a unique analytical approach along with my open heart to the rehearsal process.
Outside of academics and performing, I’m an athlete at heart, and have made it a personal goal to learn every sport under the sun (I’m currently improving my tennis game). I love being active, whether it’s running, yoga, hiking, soccer, Spikeball, pickleball, ice skating… the list goes on! I adore jazz music and going to new jazz bars in every city I visit. I recently took up the alto saxophone again and rediscovered my love for playing music. I am also a notary public for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts!
My friends and little sister, Samantha, describe me as passionate, driven, and empathetic; I truly bring my whole heart to every project I take on. I love collaborative spaces and learning from my peers, and I strive to improve every day as an artist and person.
One of the greatest compliments I’ve received from an audience member: “You have the exact same mannerisms and expressions as the Waller-Bridge siblings.”
